Elaine Maloney

is the founder of the charity with Gertrude in South Africa and she works as a headteacher in Knowsley. She has been in education for 32 years and has worked in many schools across Merseyside. She has a BA degree in English Literature and Art from Manchester University and has recently completed a post graduate certificate in Consultancy from the same University.

Elaine is married to Chris and they have four children between them ..Dan,Becky,Katy and Rachel

and they all work for the charity in any way that they can. Since 2005 and that first visit life has taken on a new dimension ..the creche has been rebuilt in the form of two classrooms,sponsorship money secured on a monthly basis,resources shipped at least quarterly and contact with the children, Gertrude and her husband Boy happens by telephone weekly.Elaine firmly believes that even if only one of the children in the creche succeeds in life then all of the work will have been worthwhile.

Every penny that is raised in the name of the charity goes directly to the children and this will always be the case.
